The adoption of Building Management Systems (BMS) has become crucial in Switzerland to meet the sustainability and efficiency goals set by national programs such as MuKEn 2014. BMS enable the centralized management of essential parameters such as energy consumption, air quality, and security, making buildings more autonomous and sustainable. In a context increasingly focused on technological innovation and sustainability, these systems are regarded as indispensable for both public and private buildings in Switzerland. However, their large-scale implementation brings new challenges related to the management and integration of increasingly diversified infrastructures.

A central challenge is the high heterogeneity of BMS, often installed at different times and in diverse contexts, with varying technical characteristics. This results in significant fragmentation that hinders the implementation of advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). To achieve truly intelligent and dynamic energy management, integrating BMS with AI platforms will be essential, as these enable real-time adaptation of energy consumption based on occupancy and environmental conditions. This approach, already tested in Smart City projects, enhances Switzerland's ability to respond to climatic emergencies and extreme events.

In this environment, integration platforms such as Eliona become indispensable, offering a versatile and scalable infrastructure to connect and optimize diverse systems, thereby facilitating the transition to connected buildings. Eliona not only enables the unification of various BMS but also adapts them in real-time through data analysis and machine learning, creating centralized management that considers the uniqueness of each building and aligns with the specific requirements of the Swiss context.
